Every purse is custom, unique, & made from your horse's halter.

How it Works
Creating custom purses from your horse's halter to keep your connection with your horse close even when they pass.

The halter is a tangible piece that holds the deep bond between you and your horse. When a horse passes, their halter holds an incredible amount of meaning. It represents the daily bond you shared. Many people don’t know what to do with their tack when a horse passes, or how to emotionally move forward. Haltered Hearts allows you to keep the tack as a functional keepsake while carrying on the memory of your horse. The bond with your horse will never leave, your Haltered Hearts bag gives that love somewhere to go.
Haltered Hearts brings to life the idea of custom horse halter purses.
Each piece is created from your own horse halter, making every purse completely unique. Halters hold years of memories shown in the tarnishes, wear and tear, faded coloring, texture and more.
As you carry the purse on your shoulder, it rests the same way that the halter did before you placed it on your horse for years of countless memories. There’s a closeness and comfort in the way the purse is crafted to preserve the feeling and emotions you shared with your horse.
Your halter is cleaned and kept exactly as it is; cleaned, preserved, and transformed into a keepsake you can carry with you.

Designer & Founder
"It matters to me that horses
are honored and remembered for all they've done."
Our founder, Fiona, has loved horses since she could pull herself up on the window sill to see the horses in the field next door.
The bond between a horse and the humans they choose is one of the greatest feelings that is hard to explain and even harder to forget. Horses give us more than we can ever give back. This deep understanding is hard to describe, it has to be felt. When the love between you and your horse becomes so foundational to who you are, it feels like a piece of you will never recover when they pass. That love needs somewhere to go.
When this level of understanding and empathy met creativity, Fiona founded Haltered Hearts. She wanted to preserve a way to feel close to your horse when they’re not physically near anymore. Her goal is to create unique, beautiful, and functional purses to keep the horses you love close, even when they're gone.

How do I send my halter?
Once you complete the intake form, Haltered Hearts sends easy instructions. You will send your halter in a flat rate box with the shipping label provided. Shipping both ways is included.
What kind of halter can I send?
Any size of nylon or rope halters! We are currently designing leather halter bags. They will release soon!
Does my halter have to be in good condition?
Not at all! “Good condition” is not relevant, we want the halter in the exact condition it was when you used it every day.
What if my halter is too small, too large, or damaged?
The size of the halter will simply determine the size of the bag. We create the bag around the halter, the halter doesn’t need to be modified to fit the bag. If the halter is fraying in a way that it may deteriorate or become disconnected from itself, HH will reach out about reinforcing the fabric so that it will last as a bag.
Absolutely! If you have an extra halter, a show halter, a special memory with a halter, or just a halter you’ve never used but want it to be a purse- we accept them all!
All parts of the halter will be used but not modified!
Can I send a halter that isn't from a horse that has passed?
Will I get back any parts of the halter that aren't used?
